Have you ever been puddle splashed by the bus you want to board or missed
a bus because you stood away from the puddle? I just wonder why they can't
put a drainage gutter between the concrete slab and the curb to coax some of
that water away. Ok, when I misssed the bus, the puddle was bigger than the
bus.

Also, why is it always shadier behind the shelter than in it? You'ld
think they would put those shelter thru some kind of testing and figure out
which way the heaviest sunlight hits? Or maybe they were designed for
different climates and not adjusted? THen why is it never shadier to be
further in front of the shelter.

Also, can't they devise shelters with smaller footprints so they can fit
on some narrower streets where shelters are now impractical?

My problem has always been: why is it (more so in the rain) the bus
stops a few feet in front of the shelters? How stupid

City of Curitiba, Brazil, seems to have the right idea when it comes to
bus stops:

I would just be happy if they would come up with a gutter system on the
buses that wouldn't dump all the water on the passengers when the bus
stops at the stop.

I live in Portland, Oregon, and the water discharge onto the waiting
passengers is a major headache.
